of our inn. Situated on a hill (colina) above the town and lake
of Villarrica, our hostería enjoys a country feeling.
It's peaceful and quiet with a panoramic view of lake and two
smoking volcanoes. The spacious terrace invites relaxing and
the gardens offer a variety of plants, a lovely new water garden,
a game of croquet or horseshoes and a wooden hot tub for soaking
or stargazing.
This relaxing inn is owned and operated by Glen and Beverly
Aldrich, originally from Montana and Oregon in the U.S. Teachers
by profession, they have traveled the world in that capacity.
After visiting southern Chile, they began looking for the
perfect place to spend some time in this region. The spectacular
physical beauty of the land and lakes and the friendliness
of the locals convinced them to settle here. In 1989, they
purchased the house that is now Hostería de la Colina
and have managed it as an inn and restaurant for over a decade.
