Ciervo, Boar, Pudú, Fox, Puma, Salmon and Rainbow Trout.

 
There is a a wide variety of animals in the area, due to the abundant nature of the region. We can see different species that inhabit in a wild form. Although inside of the cities it is difficult to find some species. In the forest regions will appreciate like they are unwrapped in free form. Some species are protected by law for their preservation as the Pudú and the Deer.

Due to the special characteristics of the surrounded lacustrine area of rivers and lakes, they are plentiful a series of species of fish, what favors in great measure practices it sport of the fishing.

For all those who enjoy the view of the flora and fauna, the near national parks to Villarrica like Villarrica and Huequehue National Parks are full with varied native flora, as the notros, chilcos, have, ulmos and hazel trees that cover among their brunches countless birds, as kingfisher the fisherman, the mandolas that share their space with pumas, pudues and mountain cats among some mammals. These parks also allow the practices of fishing in all their varieties in its rivers, lakes and lagoons.

Deer
The family of the Deer belong to the artiodactilos,(animal of two fingers) and they are herbivore (they eat single vegetables). They inhabit alone the sector of the pre mountain, being animal very shy. It is difficult to find a copy spontaneously, since they escape from the man's presence. Not commonly they are seen in flock, and they are in constant alert in front of their natural predators, as the Puma, Cat mounts and the man. These ruminant ones have gone disappearing of the area, advancing more to the South of Chile in search of a calmer and less more dangerous habitat for the preservation of their species.

Boar
The Boar belong to the family of the Pigs and Swinish in it is the wildest in its species. It is an aggressive animal that travels big distances searching water and food. Their meat is fibrous and with little percentage of fat. Their breedings remain approximately 10 days in the nest of grasses that the mother has prepared, then they begin to learn the hunt habits. They feed of rodents, snakes and carrion of dead animals. Their hunt is a sport in the area because in occasions the animal opposes strong resistance to the capture intimidating its opponents with its sharp eyeteeth. Their habitat is specialy located in the pre moountain, although they can be seen in inhabited place.

Pudú
This small animal, belongs to the family of the Deer . Their species are in extinction process due to the indiscriminate hunt. Although it is prey of other predators like the Puma, has known how to adapt to the region conditions . It is difficult to be able to at first sight to find exemplary, since this shy animal escapes from the man's presence and only it can be observed in the pre-mountain forest. Their feeding are bushes, Chilcos, Caulker and Copihue.

Puma
This Feline or Chilean Puma inhabits an extensive fringe of our mountain range, it is a wild predator that attacks mainly to the livestock (Lambs and Bovine). Its feeding consists on rodents, snakes, birds, and in general all that moves and be within its reach Although its presence becomes growing in Winter when the food is not abundant in the mountain. It can be observed strolling the mountain range and the forests of araucarias, nearer to the frontier with Argentina. It is an unsociable animal that prefers to stay far from the man, unless their hunger is bigger. It has been tasted of very few attacks from this feline to the man and most of these they have taken place in steppes of the high mountain range, and the animal has been provoked.

Fox
Although it is not very seen in populated sectors, this animal inhabits the tundra of the pre-mountain. Coming from the family of the canines, it is not considered a predator, unless some circumstances can feed of small rodents and worms. It is an animal that avoid the sociability with the man, in some cases it becomes difficult to detect their presence, due to their silent walking and their special auditory abilities.

Salmon and Rainbow Trout
This area stands out for its abundant qualities for the sport fishing. In fact in the beginnings of the modern history of Pucón, tourists of remote places of the world came to enjoy these qualities. The best copies can be in rivers coming from water-snow, the species like the Salmon, Pejerrey and the Trout prevail. Although these species can be obtained in the Lake Villarrica to big depths it is easier to fish them in the Tolten and Trancura river.
